About
The Adachi Museum in Shimane Prefecture has been voted Japan's best garden for over 20 consecutive years. The gardens are designed to be viewed through windows that frame them like living paintings. Also houses an excellent Yokoyama Taikan collection.
Crowd Avoidance
Visit on weekday mornings right at opening. Avoid rainy days when indoor attractions get busier. Book timed-entry tickets when available.
Getting There
Free shuttle bus from Yasugi Station (JR San-in Line, 20 min). Yasugi is 2.5 hrs from Osaka by train.
