Insider Tip

The Showa-era shopping street at the back of the park is the Spirited Away connection. Visit on weekdays for an almost private experience.

JEMS Tip

We connect the buildings to their historical context and point out the Spirited Away references that most visitors miss.

About

This open-air museum in Koganei Park preserves 30 historic buildings relocated from across Tokyo, including Edo-era farmhouses, Meiji-era Western buildings, and Showa-era shops. It inspired the town in Spirited Away.

Crowd Avoidance

Visit on weekday mornings right at opening. Avoid rainy days when indoor attractions get busier. Book timed-entry tickets when available.
