Insider Tip

Beyond the exquisite tableware, delve into Noritake's industrial legacy at the Technology Corner within the museum, showcasing ceramics' role in cutting-edge electronics and machinery—a lesser-known aspect often overlooked by visitors. To fully appreciate Noritake's craftsmanship, dine at the on-site restaurant or café, where their signature French and Italian cuisines are served exclusively on Noritake's finest porcelain, offering a luxurious, immersive experience.

JEMS Tip

For optimal convenience, JEMS recommends taking a taxi directly from the Sakura Exit of JR Nagoya Station; the ride is typically 5 minutes and avoids the 15-minute walk or potentially crowded local buses. For those preferring public transport, utilize the City Bus Meieki 13 from Nagoya Station Bus Terminal Bay 11, disembarking at the 'Noritake no Mori' stop. Consider integrating a visit with the adjacent Aeon Mall, a modern shopping complex that opened in 2021, for extended retail and dining options.

About

Noritake Garden, built on the former grounds of the century-old Noritake ceramics factory, offers a unique blend of history, art, and recreation in the heart of Nagoya. Visitors can explore the Craft Center to observe porcelain creation or participate in workshops, discover diverse ceramics from tableware to industrial products at the Noritake Museum, and relax in the pleasant green space, complete with a shop, cafe, and restaurant.

Crowd Avoidance

To ensure a serene experience, plan your visit for a weekday morning, ideally Tuesday through Thursday, arriving promptly at 10:00 AM when the Craft Center and Museum open. This timing allows for unhurried exploration before larger tour groups typically arrive. Alternatively, visiting later in the afternoon, around 3:30 PM, can also offer a quieter atmosphere as earlier visitors depart. Strictly avoid Mondays and national holidays, as facilities (excluding the shop) are closed or significantly busier.

Getting There

From Nagoya Station, take the Meitetsu-Nagoya Line one stop north to Sako Station, which is a 12-minute walk to the garden. Alternatively, the Meguru loop bus or City Bus Meieki 13 (from Bus Terminal Bay 11) offers direct access to the "Noritake no Mori" stop in approximately 5-12 minutes.
