JEMS Tip
We time your visit to avoid the 10am tour bus wave and route you to the hidden sub-shrines most visitors miss. Our trail map marks the best photo spots and quiet rest areas.
About
Fushimi Inari is Kyoto's most visited shrine, famous for its thousands of vermillion torii gates winding up Mt. Inari. Most tourists only walk the first 15 minutes. The full trail to the summit takes 2–3 hours and rewards you with solitude, hidden sub-shrines, and panoramic views of Kyoto.
Crowd Avoidance
Visit before 7am or after 4pm. The first 500m is always crowded; push past to find solitude.
Getting There
Inari Station (JR Nara Line) — 1-minute walk. Direct from Kyoto Station, 5 min, ¥150. Avoid Keihan line — JR is faster and covered by JR Pass.
